Singing Lessons

Why have singing lessons with Craig Faulkner?

Build the Foundations of a strong and flexible technique

If you are just beginning your vocal training it is vital that you learn the basics. Craig will work with you at your own pace.

Learn how and why your voice does what it does.

It is a good thing to understand what your voice is doing. Sometimes peoples' misconceptions can lead them to do things that don't work or are potentially harmful. Craig gives you the facts so that you can make informed choices about what you want your voice to achieve whilst maintaining your vocal health. It is Craig's aim to encourage independence and artistic freedom. Knowledge is power!

Be a versatile singer.
Craig knows many singers who have trained classically and then gone into musical theatre later (and back again!). In musical theatre you might have to sing a 'legit' song or show and then have to sing a contemporary piece. Why be vocally limited to one style and therefore close the door to other work?

An opera singer does not sound like somebody singing musical theatre, gospel or pop and rock. It isn't just a matter of style. Something must be set up differently to make the voice sound different between those sounds. It is Craig's job to help you to do it, and to help you to understand what you are doing to make the difference. Anybody can belt, anybody can make opera quality. It just takes someone to show you how and work from you to develop it.

Audition Preparation
Competition for entry into the music colleges and theatre schools is fierce. Nobody can ever make guarantees about entry. However Craig can help to prepare you for the big day to the best of your ability.
